For embedded Linux development a full Linux distribution is not appropriate. An embedded Linux distribution shall not include the latest kernel or the hottests gimmicks. Embedded Linux development requires a distribution containing the latest stable kernel equipped with industrial grade drivers, connectivity stacks, real-time extensions, support for industrial hardware, and support from engineers with experience in the fields of industrial applications.
