SYSGO opens new branch in Rostock, Germany
Mainz, Aug 5, 2008
SYSGO, leading supplier of software solutions for the world’s most demanding safety and security applications, is expanding by opening a new office in Rostock, Germany. The new office will promote SYSGO's PikeOS as well as offer services for related certification projects in security critical markets. The new development office will expand to 15 engineers over the next 18 months.
To sustain its recent accelerating growth and position it to fully exploit new successes in different industry domains, SYSGO is in the process of significantly expanding its staff, especially at the engineering level. The SYSGO plan consists of enlarging the existing offices in Germany, France, and the Czech Republic, as well as opening new offices in accordance with demand.
The state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and the city of Rostock have built a cluster for aerospace in Rostock, which was a big aerospace location prior to World War II. The development center will work on safety-critical projects in the fields of aerospace, railway and automotive systems.
"Rostock offers a good basis for high-tech companies," states the new office manager Jan Blumenthal. "Our office is close to Rostock University and we will be able to obtain a stream of qualified software engineers for embedded systems."
"Without the help from local authorities, this new office would not have opened so quickly", said Knut Degen, founder of SYSGO. "What was discussed in March 2008 as a cooperation project between SYSGO and the university in Rostock, has developed - within 3 months - into a new development office for PikeOS."
PikeOS is an innovative product providing an embedded systems platform where multiple virtual machines can run simultaneously in a secure environment. The secure virtualization technology allows multiple operating system APIs to run concurrently on one machine, e.g. an ARINC-653 application together with Linux. The PikeOS microkernel architecture allows it to be used in cost sensitive; resource constrained devices as well as large, complex systems. The simplicity and compactness of the PikeOS design result in real-time performance that competes head-to-head with conventional proprietary RTOS solutions.
