SYSGO and Candera present graphical Hypervisor-based Automotive HMI Solution

SYSGO and Candera have built a comprehensive automotive platform which fulfils the demands of a modern car IT architecture. The platform is based on Candera’s Human-Machine-Interface (HMI) design tool CGI Studio and SYSGO’s Secure Automotive Connectivity Platform (SACoP). It provides solutions for safety critical applications such as digital cockpits as well as convenience functionality like vehicle infotainment systems. The internal car infrastructure is protected by means of the secure and extendible gateway which involves the surveillance of connectivity channels as for instance LTE, Ethernet, Wi-fi and CAN.

SYSGO extends Cooperation with NXP

SYSGO has expanded its cooperation with the leading SoC manufacturer NXP® and now supports the i.MX 8X applications processor family with the new 5.0 version of its real-time operating system PikeOS. SYSGO provides a Board Support Package (BSP) for the i.MX 8QuadXPlus Multisensory Enablement Kit (MEK), a platform for evaluation and development on i.MX 8X processors. The i.MX 8X family is designed for critical applications in industrial automation and the automotive industry, two of the main areas of application for PikeOS. The combination of NXP's development kit and SYSGO's PikeOS 5.0 provides developers with a platform for safety-critical applications in which both functional and cyber security can be guaranteed from the ground up (Safety & Security by Design). The partitioning of the PikeOS Separation Kernel complements the comprehensive hardware virtualization of NXP i.MX 8X processors to achieve a strict separation of applications. This also supports mixed-criticality designs in which critical and non-critical applications run on the same hardware.

New Railway Certification for PikeOS RTOS & Hypervisor

SYSGO is now covering another important safety area with its real-time operating system and hypervisor PikeOS. In addition to the existing standards EN 50128, IEC 61508 and ISO 26262, the railway standard EN 50657 (software for railway vehicles) is now supported. TÜV Süd certified compliance with the safety requirement level SIL 2 with certificates for the architectures ARM7, ARM8 and X86-64.

Industrial-grade Linux ELinOS 7 now with Docker Support

SYSGO has introduced version 7.0 of its Linux distribution ELinOS, which is optimized for embedded applications. The new version is based on the Linux kernel 4.19 with long-term support and real-time extensions and now natively supports 64-bit development systems under Windows and Linux. In addition, the integration of ELinOS as a guest in SYSGO's hypervisor-based real-time operating system PikeOS was significantly simplified by the support of PikeOS' custom pools. With an easy-to-use Docker feature, developers can now also integrate any number of Docker images, which are available for download in large numbers on the net. This allows developers to quickly and easily provide a variety of additional services for the target.

The support contains additional features for debugging PikeOS native applications as well as APEX and POSIX® guest operating systems.
