Advancing Secure & Safe IoT and Edge Compute Platforms

Events & Conferences, IoT, R&T Projects

SYSGO was proud to take the stage at the renowned IEEE DSN 2025 conference in the beautiful city of Napoli, Italy, where we presented a keynote titled “Advancing Secure & Safe IoT and Edge Compute Platforms: Lessons from Lolipop-IoT and Suzeck projects” The session provided an excellent platform to showcase SYSGO’s role in driving innovation in cybersecurity, IoT, and edge computing.

The keynote highlighted the progress of two key initiatives currently under SYSGO’s management:

  • Lolipop-IoT (Project page) – a Chips JU-funded project focused on power harvesting for future-proof IoT ecosystems.
  • Suzeck (Project page) – part of the IPCEI-CIS national program, contributing to the broader 8ra edge/cloud initiative across Europe (More information).

The session sparked a dynamic exchange of ideas, particularly around emerging technologies and methodologies. Topics included alternatives to DDS such as Zenoh (zenoh.io), and the use of voting mechanisms in MooN configurations (e.g., RAFT consensus protocols – RAFT info)—with a focus on practical implementation challenges in real-world edge computing systems.

SYSGO is committed to shaping the future of secure and safe embedded platforms, and it was a privilege to contribute to such an engaged and knowledgeable community at DSN 2025.

We look forward to continuing our work with industry partners, researchers, and institutions to build a trustworthy digital infrastructure for Europe and beyond.
