The RISC-V in Space Workshop 2025, held on April 2-3 in Gothenburg, Sweden, brought together experts, engineers, and researchers to explore the latest innovations and challenges of RISC-V architecture in the space sector. Organized by the European Space Agency and Frontgrade Gaisler in collaboration with RISC-V International, the event featured a comprehensive program of keynote speeches, technical sessions, and networking opportunities. A key theme throughout the workshop was the role of open, collaborative development in securing European sovereignty in critical space technologies.
SYSGO and Klepsydra Technologies had a joint presentation titled "AI/ML for Space Applications on RISC-V: A Fully European Technology Stack Analysis." Dr. Pablo Ghiglino from Klepsydra Technologies discussed the integration of Klepsydra's AI inference engine with SYSGO's PikeOS real-time operating system (RTOS) and hypervisor platform. This collaboration aims to deliver cutting-edge solutions in aerospace technology by enhancing real-time data processing and decision-making capabilities for space applications—using a tech stack developed entirely in Europe.
