SYSGO integrates wolfSSL Security Technologies into its PikeOS Real-Time Operating System

Klein-Winternheim, Germany, and Edmonds, WA,

SYSGO, the European leader in real-time operating systems (RTOS) and hypervisors for certifiable embedded systems, and wolfSSL, the leading provider of TLS and cryptography, have announced that they joined forces to integrate wolfSSL security technology into SYSGO's PikeOS real-time operating system (RTOS) that includes a type 1 hypervisor or Separation Kernel. As part of the cooperation, SYSGO will provide pre-integrated wolfSSL technologies into the development environment of PikeOS and its embedded Linux ELinOS product.

With the integration of the wolfSSL TLS/SSL library, PikeOS developers will have more secure software signing capabilities and will be able to build a root of trust into the system. The combination of the wolfSSL FIPS crypto library and the EAL 3+ certified PikeOS Separation Kernel offer a very high security assurance, resulting in a provable and reputable solution for the next generation of connected devices.

"The wolfSSL products are an additional building block for our customer's security architecture," said Franz Walkembach, SYSGO's VP Marketing & Alliances. "As we continue to support our customers to build systems which are safe and secure by design and certifiable to the highest standards, the new cryptographic technologies will help them to achieve higher security assurance levels."

"Targeting extremely critical embedded applications in the avionics, automotive, railway, and other industries, SYSGO is a perfect fit for our proven security technologies," said Larry Stefonic, CEO at wolfSSL. "We are happy to work with the European leader, giving us additional presence on the continent and worldwide."

With its SSL and TLS products and its crypto library, wolfSSL is supporting high security designs in the automotive, the avionic and other industries. In avionics, it has support for complete RTCA DO-178C level A certification. In automotive, it supports MISRA-C capabilities. For government customers, wolfSSL has a strong history in FIPS 140-2, with upcoming Common Criteria support.
