DIGITAL-LOGIC and SYSGO offer joint embedded Linux Solution for Pentium-M Boards

DIGITAL-LOGIC and SYSGO have signed a partnership agreement that includes a Linux port for the Pentium-M-based smartModule( SM855 products. The PC/104-Plus board MSM855 and the EBX board MSEBX855 are also integrated into the embedded Linux development environment ELinOS. The integration into ELinOS provides DIGITAL-LOGIC customers with convenient access to the development of embedded applications under Linux.

The partnership agreement within the framework of the SYSGO Custom Board Support Programme includes the porting of Linux to DIGITAL-LOGIC specific hardware, the support of all board-specific functions and the long-term integration of the platforms into ELinOS through regular updates as well as end customer support by SYSGO. "DIGITAL-LOGIC serves the market of safety-critical applications with the new MSM855 and MSEBX855 boards," explains Detlev Schaadt, CTO Safety Critical Applications at SYSGO. "With our many years of experience with software certification according to safety-relevant standards, we will further intensify our cooperation with DIGITAL-LOGIC in the future."

Pentium M will largely dominate x86-based embedded applications over the next 10 years. With the products based on DIGITAL-LOGIC's smartModule( concept, most applications will be covered. "With SYSGO, we have now gained a leading provider of embedded Linux solutions as a partner. Both the entry via the widespread ELinOS and the extensive development support provided by the experienced SYSGO team open up perfect support for new, Linux-based product solutions for our customers," says Andreas Geh, Key Account Manager at DIGITAL-LOGIC.
