PikeOS and ELinOS now support TQMa8Xx-Modules for Safety-Critical Applications
TQ Systems supplies three variants within the TQMa8Xx series, all based on variants of the new NXP i.MX8X application processor family which use the ARM Cortex A35 architecture. The TQMa8Xx module is equipped with ECC-protected DDR3L memory and, in combination with PikeOS, is therefore particularly suitable for High Performance Computing, safety-critical applications. Typical areas of applications can be found in human-machine interfaces (HMI), engine control systems, medical robots, industrial monitoring systems as well as all types of control systems.
The other two TQ boards differ from the TQMa8Xx in the memory used - they operate with low-energy LPDDR4 memory. The TQMa8XxS module also meets the SMARC specification and is supplied in the short module format. The TQMa8XxS is suitable as a hardware basis not only for PikeOS, but also for the extremely resource-saving Embedded Linux ELinOS for industrial applications. With ELinOS, these applications benefit from soft real-time while having a very short time span between development and productive use. Using PikeOS, applications up to entire operating systems of different criticalities can be virtualized on the TQMa8Xx module and executed safely in real time. Industry-specific safety certifications such as IEC 62304, IEC 61508, EN 50128/50657 and ISO26262 can be well-achieved with SYSGO's Certification Kits. In addition, the Common Criteria certification EAL 3+ (PikeOS 4.2.3 Build S5577, ARMv7 / 8, X86_64) guarantees a high level of security against cyber-attacks. When programmed accordingly, the combination of a board from the TQMa8Xx series and PikeOS offers a high level of protection against cyber threats such as hacker attacks, data theft and data manipulation.
