SYSGO shows secure System Software for Aerospace at AIRTEC 2006 in Frankfurt

SYSGO has many years of experience as a provider of secure software solutions for electronic systems in aviation and defence technology. EADS, for example, relies on SYSGO for future unmanned aircraft, and Airbus is also one of the Mainz-based company's customers. SYSGO recently launched the first pure software implementation of AFDX (ARINC-664). Visitors can learn more about SYSGO's latest solutions and consulting services at AIRTEC 2006 from 17-20 October in Hall 8, Stand E135.

SYSGO AG, based in Mainz, Germany, is a specialist in embedded system software for aerospace and will be presenting its solutions at the AIRTEC supplier fair in Frankfurt, which is taking place for the first time this year. SYSGO has gathered comprehensive know-how for safety-critical aerospace applications in numerous projects and has proven its expertise in the context of formal certifications according to safety-critical standards such as DO-178 (Level A). The solution provider's offering includes Linux and real-time products, AFDX software components engineering services, certification and support.

SYSGO's current aerospace reference customers include EADS Military Air Systems and Rheinmetall Defence Electronics (RDE):

  • SYSGO's real-time operating system PikeOS will serve as an integration platform for a wide range of avionic systems in future EADS drones (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, UAV). The consolidation of software previously based on other systems on a common, open and modular platform saves space and costs. Compliance with all required safety standards is guaranteed.
  • RDE has contracted SYSGO to provide, document and DO-178B certify the system base software for the electronics in the Airbus A400 M cargo compartment. SYSGO will contribute more than ten man-years of development services to the ongoing project.

SYSGO also recently unveiled a solution to help simplify the networking of electronic components on the aircraft and reduce overall costs. 'Avionic Full-Duplex Switched Ethernet' (AFDX - ARINC-664) is a specification of the deterministic aircraft data network bus system. SYSGO's implementation of AFDX using software opens up new design potentials and is more portable, flexible and significantly more cost-effective than the ASIC-based solutions used to date.
