SYSGO strengthens European Space Processing Capabilities

SYSGO is proud to be part of this European space processing solution with our RTOS & Hypervisor PikeOS supporting NG-ULTRA. 

NG-Ultra is a state-of-the-art radiation-hardened system-on-chip (SoC) and field-programmable gate array (FPGA) device developed by NanoXplore for use in harsh environments such as aerospace, defense, and industrial applications. The NG-Ultra is a rad-hard FPGA device that is developed with a Radiation-Hardened By Design SRAM-based FPGA technology that is immune to the effects of radiation. The device has a dedicated architecture based on hardening techniques such as Dual Interlocked storage CEll (DICE) memory latch, which is used for Configuration Memory Cells and Internal registers (DFFs).

In light of the geopolitical situation, it is crucial for Europe to establish independent supply chains at both national and European levels to ensure sovereignty and industrial independence. Maintaining key technical skills and expertise is vital for industrial autonomy, which relies on the ability to design and deploy strategic systems independently.

To achieve this, France and Europe develop their own supply chains and initiate significant space programs to retain crucial industrial capabilities. Thales Alenia Space has formed a partnership with NanoXplore, an emerging player in the French electronics industry, to collaborate on the development of a crucial electronic component for the space sector.

Since its launch in 2010, French company NanoXplore has logged exponential growth, driven by the performance of its advanced electronic components. NanoXplore is a global enterprise and has established European leadership in the design and development of SoC FPGA (System-on-Chip Field-Programmable Gate Array) semiconductor devices that integrate programmable logic with hard processor cores. It has now formed a partnership with Thales Alenia Space, bringing together their two areas of expertise to develop the state-of-the-art NG-ULTRA component, a key to European sovereignty in space and defense.
